Income, family, address history, bank account, employer, health coverage, every asset you sold. We treat it that way — here is exactly how.
Your documents are readable by you and by the licensed preparers assigned to your file — nobody else, and no other customer, ever. That is enforced by the software rather than by policy: the search that powers the app and the assistant physically cannot reach another person's files.
You type it once. It is encrypted before it is stored, and from then on the app will only ever tell you that it is on file — not to you, not to our staff, not to support. Same for your spouse's, your children's and your bank details. Nobody can read it off a screen because it is never on one.
Your tax documents are used to prepare your return and to answer your questions about it. That is the whole list. They are not sold, not shared with advertisers, and not fed into any model as training data.
When you ask it something, it looks at your documents and your numbers, and at the public tax reference the practice maintains. It has no route to anyone else's paperwork, and it names the file it read so you can check the source yourself.
Payments go straight to Stripe. We keep an amount and a receipt. Nobody here can see a card number, because nobody here ever receives one.
Signed in, saved a section, uploaded a document, signed, paid, filed — each with a time and a date. That is what answers “what exactly did I file, and when?” a year later, when it actually matters.
Ask and we will export everything you have given us in a readable form, or delete it, within 30 days — apart from the tax records we are required to retain. Your documents are yours; we hold them for you.
